What is a Vector Format and Why do I need one?

In order to achieve high-quality logos on your t-shirts and uniforms, it’s crucial that we receive your artwork in the appropriate format for clear printing and embroidery, ensuring it looks spectacular on your new uniforms.

Merely because an image appears sharp on your computer or phone screen does not guarantee it can be enlarged without losing clarity and becoming pixelated. At LUMA Printing Workwear & Uniforms, we request your artwork and logo files to be provided in a vector format, allowing us to scale them up while preserving their crisp and sharp quality.

Standard jpeg and png graphics consist of tiny dots (pixels) and are limited in size to their original creation. Enlarging them beyond their initial dimensions results in pixelation, making them appear blurry.

Vector graphics, on the other hand, can be resized without loss of quality. They are constructed using mathematical calculations (vectors), enabling them to recalibrate each time you adjust their size. The most common file formats for Vector graphics include AI and EPS.

The image below illustrates the distinction between a vector format file and a standard image (jpg or png). When you zoom in on the standard image, it loses clarity, while the vector file remains sharp and clear.
